Privacy Policy Notice

Octant Business Services, LLC (Octant) is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) that provides third party loan servicing, loan underwriting and portfolio administration services to its clients.  Federal law requires Octant to inform our clients of Octant’s policies regarding the information security and privacy of non-public personal information (NPPI) as well as the ways we protect and safeguard this information that is provided during the provision of Octant’s services.

Information We Collect

(for example) Information we receive from member applications and other forms; information collected when verifying information provided on applications or other forms; information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.  

Why is Non-Public Personal Information Collected

Octant only collects NPPI that is necessary to provide the services that have been requested by our clients.  The NPPI is either provided by our clients, their member borrowers or is obtained by Octant.       

What Information We Disclose

We disclose NPPI only to individuals or entities necessary to provide our clients with the services they have requested and as permitted by law.  In some situations, we may provide information to another organization (such as another client interested in participating in a loan) as part of a client requested service. We do not disclose NPPI to anyone, except as necessary to provide our clients with the services that they have requested.  We require all our employees to comply with our Information Security Program Policy, Written Information Security Plan, Confidentiality of Non-Public Personal Information Plan and all other related policies and procedures.

Clients Have the Right to Prohibit Disclosure

If for any reason our clients do not want us to provide NPPI to other parties while providing our services, they may direct us in writing to prohibit those disclosures.  

Our Clients’ Privacy is Important to Us

We retain records and files in accordance with regulatory requirements relating to the services we provide to our clients. To protect our clients’ NPPI, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. If you are a client of Octant, please call us with any questions that you have regarding the safety of your NPPI.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Octant reserves the right to modify this policy at any time and will modify the website to reflect these changes.
